Review of Hotel le Petit Paris, Paris

Newly renovated stylish boutique hotel with friendly staff in an adequate location

As we traveled with our son and our goddaughter we needed three rooms and therefore decided to choose a somewhat less expensive hotel than we usually do (last time we went to Renaissance Paris Vendome and the stay before we were at the Meurice). My research on Tripadvisor led me to this boutique hotel and it was definitely the right choice for our two nights in Paris!

Review of Wolwedans Dunes Lodge, NamibRand Reserve

Recreational experience in desert landscape, newly decorated tents & fine food

We two families (each with a teen) chose this stunningly located lodge in the midst of a private reserve as a “grand finale” (last three nights) of our excellent Botswana, Namibia and Victoria Fly-in safari guided expertly by

Review of Hotel Villa Margherita, Swakopmund

Good location, well furnished rooms & courteous staff

We (two families with a teen each) spent one night in this nice boutique hotel. It is located (quite quiet) near the centre of town and in walking distance to all the touristy spots.

Review of Mowani Mountain Lodge, Damaraland

Absolutely superb location, good restaurant, but a bit dated tents

On our brilliant Botswana, Namibia and Victoria Falls fly-in safari guided expertly by Ultimate Safaris (sightings included the Big 5, cheetah, wild dog and sitatunga) we (two families with a teen each) also made a stop at this beautifully located lodge amid of rocky hills.

Review of Desert Rhino Camp, Damaraland

Interesting black rhino tracking in beautiful landscape & newly refurbished camp

Our two families (each with a teen) stayed at this “classic” Wilderness camp two nights for viewing the endangered black rhino (not to confuse with the rather common white rhino …) at the occasion of our brilliant

Review of Kwando Lagoon Camp, Kwando River

Fantastic "hard core" game viewing, nice setting, but accommodations in need of refurbishment

We (two families with a teen each) spent two nights there after being at the Little Vumbura Camp during our brilliant Botswana, Namibia and Victoria Falls fly-in safari guided expertly by Ultimate Safaris (sightings included the Big 5,

Review of Little Vumbura Camp, Okawango-Delta

Wonderful setting, good accommodations & activities, some complaint about food

Our two families with a teen each stayed there two nights prior to going to Kwando Lagoon Camp during our brilliant Botswana, Namibia and Victoria Falls fly-in safari guided expertly by Ultimate Safaris (sightings included the Big 5,

Review of Ichobezi Makwae Houseboat, Chobe River

Luxurious & relaxing game viewing

This houseboat is a recommended alternative to a lodge along the Chobe River. When you book three (out of total four) double rooms (we were two families with a teen each) as we did during our brilliant BotswanaNamibia and Victoria
Falls fly-in safari guided expertly by Ultimate Safaris

Review of The Victoria Falls Hotel, Victoria Falls

Favorable location, nice colonial atmosphere, tired rooms

We (two families with a teen each) spent one night in this splendid colonial hotel palace during our brilliant Botswana, Namibia and Victoria Falls fly-in safari guided expertly by Ultimate Safaris (sightings included the Big 5, cheetah, wild dog and sitatunga).

Review of Hotel Le Vieux Manoir, Murten-Meyriez

Beautiful, romantic lakeside manor with a wonderful park and a good, but over-priced restaurant

This amazing lakeside manor has been renovated a short time ago and this with a good result (as this was our first stay here we do not know how it looked before …). There is a vast, beautiful park with a lot of mature trees, deck chairs anywhere and even a wooden raft with a few chairs!

Review of Hotel Castello del Sole, Ascona

Unbeatable location, vast property, superb full board

We (family with a teenage son) have been to this hotel for the fourth time and we enjoyed this stay as much as the two recent ones (the first one had been over 10 years ago with another director).

Review of Hotel Traube Tonbach, Baiersbronn

Very nice rural location, fantastic service, good infrastructure

This much recommended hotel is nicely situated at the end of an idyllic valley in the Black Forest. It has about 170 rooms, 5 restaurants and all the equipment you would expect from a five star house.

Review of Hotel Crosby Street Hotel, New York

Gorgeous design hotel in quiet SoHo location

When I was looking for a hotel in the Soho area I came across to the Firmdale Hotels having a familiar ring from my recent research of hotels in London (we almost chose their “The Soho Hotel” for a stay in London as it enjoys an excellent reputation). Hence, I had a closer look to their Crosby Street Hotel opened half a year ago and I liked what I saw … We decided to give it a try for our family’s stay (couple with a teen) in NYC.

Review of Four Seasons Hotel, Washington DC

Perfect stay in great location

It is not the first time for us (family with a teen) staying in a Four Seasons hotel but the first time in Washington DC. The hotel was renovated recently and it shows, nice-looking public area but not much space for lingering as it was needed for the new Bourbon Steak restaurant and bar.

Review of The RoseMary Inn, Columbia NJ/USA

Splendid B&B in wonderful surroundings

We (family with a teen) are not travellers staying very often in a B&B, in fact it has been only the second time but RoseMary Inn is really a B&B worth going to as it can rival many (luxurious) hotels we know of.

How to proceed when planning a short-stay in a city

Best hotels & restaurants do not come easy

Travel formerly

At the time, when you wanted to spend a few days in a city you bought a travel guide, you went to a travel agency and you asked friends for tips. Nowadays, it is much easier to get a hold of information of your chosen destination but be aware of the fact that this is a rather time-consuming matter.

Review of Schlosshotel, Fiss

Recommended first class hotel with fab ski in& ski out, up to date infrastructure

We (two families, each with a teen) spent a week in the Schlosshotel for skiing and I have to say that this hotel is really very convenient for this purpose. Not only the ski area is very good (one of the largest in the Alps) but the hotel offers also the perfect ski in and ski out experience (An elevator from the ski room leads directly to the ski slopes!).

Review of Hotel Waldhaus, Flims

Impressive hotel complex in a large park

We (family with a teenage son) have been to this hotel for four times and although most stays have been short we claim to have a good knowledge of it. The Waldhaus is in a splendid hotel park (the largest in Switzerland) and consists of three different „sub-hotels“ (we have been in all of them).
