Review of Hotel Ermitage, Schoenried

Newly renovated hotel (lobby), impressive facilities, friends employees

Together with friends (two couples in total) we spent one night at his hotel, and this in context with the Menuhin-Festival Gstaad where we visited a concert (the Ermitage is the official partner of this festival).

Review of Hotel Alma, Barcelona

Modern, minimalist hotel in a favorable location with good service

Our family chose the Alma for our 3-night stay in Barcelona and was very satisfied with the offered. My husband and I had a Grand Deluxe Room going to the courtyard garden and our son had a Deluxe Room next to us. The rooms were really spacious and well-appointed in a minimalist style. The bed was one of the most comfortable we ever had in a hotel and the walk-in shower was a hit. There is free wifi in the rooms and drinks in the mini-bar (soft drinks) are free.

Review of Grand Hotel Kronenhof, Pontresina

Masterly renovated historic hotel with good facilities and friendly staff

Together with friends (two families with a teenager each) we spent six days at this historic, but expertly renovated hotel. My husband and I had a double room De Luxe and our son had an adjacent Single Room De Luxe in the new wing. Both rooms were well-sized, contemporarily furnished and had well-appointed bathrooms as well as balconies.

Review of Park Hotel, Weggis

Picturesque lake-side location, beautiful rooms and gourmet food

My husband and I spent a weekend at this gorgeous resort bordering the Lake of Lucerne. We reserved last-minute a double room with lake view and were astonished to receive a generously sized room with a spacious bathroom and a tremendous view to the lake and the mountains, and this to a reasonable rate.

Review of Gaia Hotel & Reserve, Manuel Antonio

Well-appointed hotel in lush surroundings with friendly staff &  fine cuisine

The three of us (family with a teen) chose this small beautifully located hotel as our last stop of our round trip in Costa Rica and were well advised with it.

Review of Hotel Four Seasons Resort, Peninsula Papagayo

Perfect for beach holidays, immaculate service & good hotel infrastructure

Our family (my husband, our teenage son and I) had a 3 day stay at this wonderfully located hotel, nestled on a Pacific coast hillside at the end of Peninsula Papagayo.

Review of Hidden Canopy Treehouses Boutique Hotel, Santa Elena

Within cloud forest, quaint treehouse, great teatime

My husband, our teenage son and I spent two nights at this magnificent property which is nestled outside of town within the cloud forest canopy.

Review of Nayara Hotel, Spa & Gardens, La Fortuna

Luxurious, spacious bungalows with good view of volcano in lush tropical garden with helpful staff

My husband, our teenage son and I stayed three nights at this hotel which offers a good view to the Arenal Volcano (you can see not only the inactive side but also the active one). There are 50 free-standing bungalows in a lush tropical garden and many of them have an unobstructed view of the volcano.

Review of El Silencio Lodge, Bajos del Torro

For nature lovers seeking peacefulness, but also appreciating fine accommodations and food

The three of us (family with a teen) spent two days in this beautifully located hotel in the midst of the cloud forest. It is the perfect place for nature lovers looking for an eco luxury accommodation

Review of Costa Rica Marriott Hotel, San José

Beautiful building and grounds, mediocre rooms, good food

My family (two adults and a teen) chose this hotel as first stop in Costa Rica after our flight over the Atlantic Ocean and it is ideally located for this purpose, only 5 minutes by car from the airport and in a quiet although rather strange setting for a hotel (industrial zone).

Review of Radisson Blu Hotel, Zurich Airport

Convenient, well-appointed and good (pricey) grill restaurant

This hotel is just perfect in the case of having to catch an early flight as we (family with one teen) had to do. It is directly linked to the terminal so it is very convenient for passengers.

Review of Hotel Villa Principe Leopoldo, Lugano

Tremendous views, nice rooms, good restaurant

My husband and I stayed a weekend at this hotel wonderfully located above the Lake Lugano in a historical mansion with astounding views on the lake and the surrounding mountains.

Review of Hotel Park Hyatt, Paris

Elegant hotel, contemporary luxury and incredible staff

My husband and I chose this favourably located hotel for a weekend in Paris. As seasoned Paris travellers we always had wanted to stay near to one of our most favoured squares of Paris, the Place Vendome. The Park Hyatt Paris is really an exquisitely designed and tastefully decorated place! We had already known the hotel from an earlier visit to the bar, but we were once again impressed by the sheer elegance of the site.

Review of Hotel One & Only Le Saint Geran, Poste de Flacq/Mauritius

Fabulous setting, good facilities and pleasant staff

My family (my husband, our teenage son and I) returned to this wonderfully located hotel (on a private pensinsula), and this after our first stay eight years ago. Whereas some details changed, the main things remained more or less the same.

Review of Hotel Oceana, Santa Monica

Good (relatively quiet) location, large rooms, fine staff

If you want to be in a hotel at the beaches of Los Angeles, they don’t make it easy for you. The place to be in Santa Monica is supposed to be either The Shutter’s or the Casa del Mar, but my husband, my teenage son and I preferred the Oceana to these two hotels because the location is nicer

Review of Hotel The Resort at Pelican Hill, Newport Beach

Nice setting, beautiful views & good facilities

There are several top-notch resorts in the area; we (my husband, my teenage son and I) had already been at The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel and had wanted to try another one. It proved difficult to find such a place at least if you don’t want to pay exorbitant prices, so we were lucky

Review of Hotel Palm Springs Rendezvous, Palm Springs

1950s feel, fine accommodation, great food

Our family (two adults and a teen) normally is not into bed & breakfast establishments but when their reviews are better than most of luxury hotels on site we make an exception. We happened to this with the Rendezvous and weren’t disappointed. It is – as stated on their homepage – a perfect

Review of L’Auberge de Sedona, Sedona

Splendid setting, beautiful Vista Suites & friendly staff

The location of this hotel along a lovely creek is quite stunning. It is also well situated for exploring Sedona, at least the commercial district of it. As there were three of us (family with a teenager) we opted for one of the newly built Vista Suites and we were not disappointed!

Review of El Tovar Hotel, Grand Canyon National Park

Historic hotel in fantastic location

This hotel is all about history and location. It looks back on more than 100 years and its setting right at the south rim of the Grand Canyon is not to beat. When you first set foot in the impressive entrance hall it may be quite an experience. As I had learnt from other reviews this impression often vanishes when you enter your room.

Review of Inn Sunflower Hill, Moab

A good choice in a place where such finds are rare

As Moab is not exactly a place where you can find an abundance of first class accommodations, Sunflower Hill stands out from the vast number of mediocre lodging facilities. My husband, my teenage son and I were lucky to

Review of The Rochester Hotel, Durango

Historic hotel in good location

My husband, my teenage son and I chose this hotel for our one night stay in Durango and weren’t disappointed. The Rochester is a place with quite a long history and this can still be seen although it’s contemporarily equipped.

Review of Inn on the Alameda, Santa Fe

Quaint place, convenient location, fabulous breakfast

We (my husband and my teenage son) spent two nights in this lovely hotel and that in a One Bedroom King Suite which is quietly located with no view whatsoever. But as there are probably few rooms in this hotel with a view worth mentioning

Review of Inn L'Ermitage, Montreux-Clarens

Small hotel in a beautiful mansion with fine gourmet restaurant

My husband, my teenage son and I spent 2 nights in this lovely ancient mansion which houses nowadays a gourmet restaurant and a small hotel. It’s more a restaurant with rooms than a hotel with a restaurant.

Review of Hotel Waldhaus, Sils-Maria

Family owned grand hotel - luxurious enough, yet unpretentious and full of history

My family (my husband and my teenage son) have stayed at this wonderfully located hotel (majestically situated on a wooded hill above the place Sils and the Lake Sils) many times and it’s always a special experience to be there.
