Review of Hotel Renaissance Paris Vendome, Paris

Favorable location, nice accommodations

Our family stayed a few days at this hotel around new year's eve and had a great time there.

It is situated in a rather quiet street between the Louvre and Place Vendome and is perfectly suited for exploring all the important sights in Paris.

We had a junior suite with two small rooms for our family (tho adults and a teen). The tiny (seperated) living room had a sofabed and a second flat screen tv. The rooms were tastefully decorated (cool, modern) and everything was well maintained and perfectly clean. The bathroom had a tub, a shower, a seperated toilet and - the only disadvantage - only one sink. Altogether a very nice accommodation with just enough space for the three of us!

The (not included) breakfast was in the fancy restaurant Pinxo. There was a buffet with all the usual breakfast items (eggs to be ordered with additional costs). We also had dinner at this stylish local and there the new year's eve dinner. Food was very good (13 points at Gault Millau) and reasonably priced, service was kind and professional. We also visited the tiny bar where a glass of champagne was offered at new year's eve by the management.

The whole staff was always very nice and helpful. We would return to this hotel for another stay. The hotel is of course not as luxurious as the Meurice next door (where we stayed five years ago) but it offers (also for the spoiled public) a good experience to a fair price.

Date of stay: December 2008
